Instructions for how to set up and use the Specs Mode of the Monsido Web Browser Extension to adjust the readability level on pages.

Introduction

This feature is an addition to the Monsido Web Browser Extension.

Website Owners:

Enter any text snippet and change the readability level of it to meet the target audience. This feature is extremely helpful for drafting new text.

Website Users:

Website users can enter text from any source and convert it to a specified difficulty level to meet their readability needs.


Instructions

  1. Click the Specs Mode button (icon of greater than/less than symbols) in the Web Browser Extension toolbar.

    The menu expands.

    The menu that expands to the left of the Monsido web browser toolbar. A space is provided for the user to enter a text snippet.

  2. Enter the original text in the space provided.

  3. Click Generate.

  4. Choose Moderate (8th-grade reading level) or Extreme (1st-grade reading level) conversion level.

    The page that shows where the button 'Make it Readable' is located.

  5. If needed, copy the text that is generated.
